Act 3 is when the game forces you to only spend time with Yuri, regardless of who you were trying to impress at first. In this act, Yuri's morbid and passionate personality is pushed to its limit. She refuses to let the other girls talk to you, makes extremely creepy remarks (written in black, which may indicate Monika having tampered with her words), and the nature of the book she recommends is much darker than in Act 1.

After deleting all other characters in the game, Monika is now the only thing in existence besides the player and a room floating in space, the Literature Club's classroom. She explains that everything that had happened up until this point was her doing. She has power over the game, and she's also aware that she's trapped in the game.

She confesses that she made Sayori's mental illness more severe, causing her sudden suicide, and maximized Yuri's obsessive tendencies. She furthermore explains that she did so because she thought that it would make the player spend more time with her. The events that ended up happening weren't what she'd planned; there were more mistakes she unintentionally made since Monika did not account for the things that would happen if she messed with the character files. It is also noted that at this point, the player cannot save or load the game anymore, and all of the previous saves that the player had are erased. If the players does try to save, a message pops out that says, "There's no point in saving anymore, don't worry, I'm not going anywhere", presumably from Monika.
In this act, you can still write poems for Natsuki, but after the first poem the game forces her to hate them, and Yuri to like them instead. When Yuri goes to get water for the tea she wanted to make, your character follows her when she takes too long to come back, and witnesses her cutting her arm with a knife, apparently deriving pleasure from it before being discovered. The game inexplicably rewinds back to before your character leaves the room to find Yuri, with no memory of witnessing her self-harm.

After explaining this to the player, and how she deleted the others, she proclaims her love and the player has no choice but to accept her confession. At this point the player can do one of two things:
The same as in Act 1, the game will allow you to pick which girl to help for the festival, but your mouse will slide down towards Monika's name. If you manage to pull it up to choose either Natsuki or Yuri, the game will glitch, and the words 'Just Monika' will repeat over and over, with boxes full of her name covering the center of the screen top to bottom. When you finally choose Monika, the other two will protest and you can only choose Yuri after that. Everyone else will leave except for you and Yuri, where she can't hold back her obsession anymore.

If the player does the latter, Monika will be deleted, although it seems her consciousness still exists. Then after a bit of talking she realizes that what she has done was wrong. She then goes on to create a new state of the game, where she ceases to exist, leading to Act 4.
Her eyes go wild and she starts rambling about her disturbing thoughts like 'I even touch myself with the pen that I stole from you' and 'I want to tear open your skin and crawl inside'. Your character will not respond until Yuri finally confesses her love to you, and regardless of whether or not you accept her confession, she stabs herself to death in graphic detail, finally slumping over on the floor. She then speaks a slew of gibberish black text, (which shows up in the history as Monika's blurb on the game's steam page, written over and over again). To get through all of the text, you have to skip, and two full days pass ingame, as Yuri's corpse starts to show signs of decay after the first day passes. If you check the game files during this time, you will see a file labeled with 'have fun on the weekend', Monika presumably knowing that Yuri will stab herself. Her eye color will fade from purple to grey as her eyes decay, as well as her spilled blood from red to brown.

Natsuki will be the first to come into the club room, at first asking why you are earlier than her before she notices Yuri's body. She screams, vomits, and runs out of the room. Monika will the come in, calmly talking about how she expected this happening at seeing Yuri's corpse but remarking on the glitch that forced you to stay there the entire weekend. She then simply deletes Yuri and Natsuki's character files from the game, ending Act 3.

Hey, hold up! This page may contain a lot of spoilers.
It's recommended you play the game first before you read the article.

After explaining this to the player, and how she deleted the others, she proclaims her love and the player has no choice but to accept her confession. At this point the player can do one of two things:

 1. Do nothing and just read the lines of Monika's dialogue (she repeats her lines after she has said everything she was scripted to say). Players can also write a poem, but the only words are various misspellings of Monika.
 2. Erase the Monika file in the character folder.

If the player does the latter, Monika will be deleted, although it seems her consciousness still exists. Then after a bit of talking she realizes that what she has done was wrong. She then goes on to create a new state of the game, where she ceases to exist, leading to Act 4.
